Raiders are aggressive and ruthless attackers who specialize in fast, overwhelming assaults. They excel in hit-and-run tactics, plundering resources and sowing chaos among enemy ranks.
Raiders are known for their speed and brutality, often targeting weaker or unprepared opponents to maximize their impact.
Raiders tend to fall into the species of Drakes, Ghouls, Suitaurs, Tithons and Wildlings.
Drakes are fearsome ambush predators which share a distant kinship with dragons but lacking the grandeur of their more majestic relatives. Drakes possess sleek, muscular bodies covered in tough, leathery scales that glisten ominously in the shadows where they lurk, waiting to strike.
Their powerful, sinewy limbs end in razor-sharp claws capable of rending flesh from bone with terrifying ease. Drakes are equipped with powerful jaws filled with rows of serrated teeth, perfect for shredding their prey in the blink of an eye. Unlike many supposed dragonkin, drakes do not tend to possess wings, though when one does they’re vestigial at best.
Drakes excel in using the terrain to their advantage, blending seamlessly into their surroundings before unleashing a swift and brutal assault.
Ghouls are vile undead creatures that haunt the darkest corners, preying upon the living with insatiable hunger. Driven by an unending craving for the flesh of the living, ghouls are relentless hunters who will never cease.
Living in packs, ghouls exhibit a frightening level of cunning and coordination. The presence of ghouls is often signaled by an eerie silence, followed by the sudden and ferocious attack of these relentless predators. When they gather in numbers, ghouls can overwhelm even the most seasoned of warriors with their sheer ferocity and unyielding hunger.
Those who have survived encounters with these abominations speak of their chilling presence and ghastly howls that echo through the night.
Piglike humanoids, the origins of which are as mysterious as the ways in which they reproduce. Suitaurs are the bane of good people everywhere, as they spring up in nearly any environment and can and will make their homes anywhere with a ready food supply.
Suitaurs have poor temperaments as a rule and are given to violent anger as a means of expressing themselves. They’re easily offended, impatient and straightforward in their thinking, considering just about every other living thing either food to be consumed, or potentially food.
Some believe they spring fully formed from the malice inherent in all races, to be put down as one might a rabid dog and in so doing protect oneself.
Encountering a tithon is an experience that strikes exquisite terror into the hearts of even the most stalwart of those unfortunate enough to encounter them.
These monstrosities boast large, predatory forms reminiscent of arthropods, covered in chitinous exoskeletons adorned with stiff, coarse hairs that seem to writhe in the dim, eerie miasma of their homes.
The arsenal of the average tithon includes razor-sharp chelicerae and robust pedipalps designed solely for the gruesome task of tearing prey apart alongside their sharpened limbs.
Truly, if nothing else Tithons must be proof that the Nine slept at least once in their storied history, and they birthed nightmares.
Living on the fringes of society, wildlings have established hideouts deep within the wilds. They rely on their resourcefulness, survival skills and knowledge of the terrain to survive.
Like wolves and other man-eating beasts, wildlings travel through the wilderness in packs and prey on their fellows as soon as an opportunity presents itself. Travel outside of roadways is dangerous business, and it isn’t just a case of people versus animals and environment.
While they may be branded as criminals, wildlings view themselves as individuals who refuse to bow down and who embrace the untamed spirit of freedom.
